This past week we were meeting in our office to discuss plans for the new year and one of our associates, Erika, received an email telling her that she had passed the PE exam. At that moment I was reminded of what really matters. Our little company is a family that takes care of each other. Everyone in our small firm was overcome with joy for Erika. She has worked so hard to get to this point. She is a wife and mother, an essential partner in raising those kids, and an amazing member of our team. Now she is a licensed engineer and we're so proud of her accomplishment!
All of this made me appreciate our team and the work we have done since 2009 in working towards what we have today at DEI Engineers. We have a great team! Not always perfect, but always great. Even in our difficulties we have made it through, and we are better as a group than on our own. I want to thank everyone at DEI for what we have.
And with that, I started thinking about our clients. Today I had a client tell an architect that DEI was “on our team” and needed to do the structural design for a small addition. It is a small project, but I was so thankful that our client said that we are the engineers for the job.
I have had the privilege to work with many of our clients for coming up on 30 years. They have supported me, and us, along the way. The amazing relationships we have created in that time move us to continue to do the work that we do. Along the way we have worked on some remarkable projects. The projects are great, but the clients are what we really appreciate.
